Red Chaos

American Wild Ale

TRVE Brewing (Denver, CO)

6% ABV

Kvlt Rating: 4.5 out of 5

Using Montmorency cherries from Colorado’s Western Slope, TRVE Brewing has created a damn tasty sour American Wild Ale named after Vhöl’s “Red Chaos” from their 2015 album Deeper Than Sky.

TRVE wanted to build deeper relationships with Colorado growers, so they traveled across the Rocky Mountains to load up a truck with cherries to brew another one of their delicious sours using their golden sour base. Pouring with no head, this light red ale has a
slight funky cherry note to it and it doesn’t disappoint on delivery of flavor either after being aged on the cherries.

The flavor isn’t too tart but it is certainly there in that subtle TRVE way. It’s slightly sweet and totally good. This is a limited release so get to the brewery and pick up some bottles of Red Chaos before they’re gone.

Three jams while drinking Red Chaos:

Vhöl – “Red Chaos” from Deeper Than Sky

Widower – “Smasher of Thousands” from Goat Throne EP

Darkthrone – In the Shadow of the Horns from A Blaze in the Northern Sky
