Let some new metal crack across your speakers this Thorsday with these releases on Bandcamp. Stream them for free and in the case of the Naðra album, download it for free if you’re feeling cheap. January has seen some good releases, and below are a few real solid albums I’ve put through my ears.

The Lion’s Daughter – Existence is Horror (blackened sludge metal) USA

I love both genres and this band makes it all work with this atmospheric slice of dark, heavy riffs. Really great tracks that just keep delivering as the album progresses. A few are going to be on repeat in regular rotation. Get it on BANDCAMP.

Lycus – Chasm (funeral doom) USA

Dropping a heavy slab of doom is California’s Lycus. Their second album is thick and crushing over four tracks, they just keep the guitars and drums slowly thumping your eardrums. Found on BANDCAMP.

Naðra – Allir vegir til glötunar (black metal) ICE

Nice debut album that has that Icelandic sound to it we have come to know from groups like Sólstafir and Kontinuum. You could almost put this into the avant-garde category, but it leans more towards traditional black metal stylings. Get it on BANDCAMP.

I’m going to make this a usual section of Kvlt of Brewtality where Kevin and I will highlight a couple favorite albums from each month. Now go forth and enjoy some new tunes!
